ICS Teacher Feature Interview: Mr. Mansor

Updated: Oct 2, 2020

Mr. Seth Mansor has served at Immanuel Christian School as a kindergarten teacher since the 2017-2018 school year. He attended Eastern University, where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education.

What value do you see in Christian education?

Christian education is of great worth. To be able to teach and learn and discover that God's truth is throughout his creation is a wonder to behold.

Why do you feel called to teach at ICS?

I believe wholeheartedly in the mission and vision of ICS. It's easy to work at a place that you believe in.

Why do you want to teach kindergarteners?

Kindergarten is one of the first school years or the very first one for many children. Being able to usher them into school life and walk with them through such a critical growing year is thrilling to me.

What's your favorite subject to teach? Why?

Phonics is my absolute favorite subject. I love opening God's gift of words, letters, and sounds with children as they put things together, see patterns, and apply reading skills.

Describe your teaching style.

As much as possible, I aim to teach with movement in mind. Kindergarten students are generally a high energy group, so giving opportunities to move, sing, and dance during lessons and throughout the day makes sense.

What's the best part of your job?

Watching children grow throughout the year in so many different ways.
